WRO: We Are One

WRO also known as “We Are One” (우리는 하나 다) is a project that focuses on my design research dissertation about the hermit kingdom of North Korea and their act of propaganda. Delving into the systematic nation and capitalist power play, the nation embodies a utopia devoted to their state and their leader through the use of statues, virtue banners and propaganda posters that can be seen across the nation. And as a reflection to my research, I designed the idea of my own propaganda that goes against the system to pursue a united Korea in a form an underground messaging with the use of black light to hide a hidden message of hope and unity hidden within the clothing. My collection includes a t-shirt line and military jackets that can be seen as normal items of clothing with the idea of exporting the collection in under the regimes radar and spread the awareness through the poverty people of North Korea.
